A Teenager’s Poem: “What‘s Nature?”
Mother nature
unwanted nature
a hassle, a bother
an obstacle like no other
never welcome and often feared
a little interesting, a little weird
Concrete or grass
clueless, we pass
without a care or a thought
no care for what good you’ve brought
we breathe the air you give us
yet we still ignore you thus
An Apple, to die for
A Blackberry, to be ashamed for
An orange, what is that?
A strawberry? let’s chat
Technology, sounds good
nature, sounds hood
our priorities, need refinishing
before our lives are finished
our value for nature, diminishing
or is it already diminished?
This purpose of this poem is to portray how the 'average teenager' views nature.
